  1. How does EEG assist in diagnosing neurological disorders more quickly and accurately than ever before?
  2. What are the real benefits of expanding EEG with video, holter and neurofeedback modules, and when might it be worth using them?
  3. Which neurotechnologies support the treatment of epilepsy, ADHD, drug-resistant depression, and sleep disorders?
  4. Which ELMIKO system will prove most effective for your practice?

NEUROLOGY BEGINS WITH EEG.

EEG is not only the foundation of the ELMIKO brand’s development but also one of the most important technologies in modern neurology. This non-invasive diagnostic technique, which involves recording the cerebral bioelectrical activity using electrodes placed on the scalp, facilitates the diagnosis and monitoring of epileptic states, comas, consciousness disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and ADHD. It also finds application in neurotherapy, for instance in the form of EEG Neurofeedback, and in advanced research into Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs).

Unlike other commonly used diagnostic tools, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or Computed Tomography (CT), EEG is the only method that allows real-time assessment of central nervous system activity, both at rest and during epileptic seizures, sleep, or rehabilitation.

In addition to classic signal recording, ELMIKO EEG systems also offer comprehensive solutions for observing and analysing patient behaviour (EEG and video EEG), long-term measurement (ELMIKO Holter EEG) and assessment of cognitive and emotional functions (QEEG, ELMIKO EEG Neurofeedback).

FULL CONTROL OVER THE BRAIN, THANKS TO THE EEG SYSTEM AND ITS EXTENSIONS

The ELMIKO EEG System is a comprehensive tool for neurological diagnosis and therapy, designed for maximum precision, ergonomics, and the demands of clinical work. The ELMIKO EEG System distinguishes itself from other technologies by featuring:

  • An advanced EEG amplifier with the capacity to operate on 22 reference channels and 10 bipolar channels,
  • Continuous impedance monitoring and an exceptionally low noise level, which guarantees high quality of the EEG recording,
  • The capability to record ultra-low frequencies and connect a photostimulator, photodetector, and a patient button,
  • Blood saturation (SpO₂) measurement function,
  • The option to extend the basic software functionalities with modules for: video, PSG, holter, FFT analysis, mapping, TPM, DSA, CSA, BSI, and others,
  • Possibility to extend measurements with QEEG and EEG Neurofeedback for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.

Depending on your needs and workplace, ELMIKO offers three versions of the EEG system:

Single-Station ELMIKO EEG System:

  • Designed for clinics, outpatient clinics and smaller medical centres,
  • Available in stationary or portable versions.
  • With a compact design and full EEG functionality.
  • Dedicated to ambulatory neurological diagnostics.

Mobile ELMIKO EEG System:

  • Designed for use at the patient’s home, at the patient’s bedside or in emergency situations,
  • Enabling EEG diagnostics in all conditions, including in the Intensive Care Units (ICUs), during rehabilitation, or in neurosurgery.
  • Available exclusively in a portable version, optimised for mobile diagnostics.

Multi-Station ELMIKO EEG System:

  • Utilised in hospitals and high-throughput EEG laboratories.
  • Allows simultaneous work at multiple stations,
  • Compatible with various diagnostic environments.
  • Enabling the optimisation of patient flow.

ELMIKO also offers the EEG Neurofeedback System, which is particularly useful in neurotherapy. During sessions, the patient learns to consciously regulate their neuronal activity through real-time feedback received directly from the brain. The most common effects of therapy include improved concentration, control over emotions and a positive impact on cognitive functions. This method is used, among others, in the treatment of ADHD, anxiety disorders, drug-resistant depression and brain injuries.

MODERN NEUROLOGICAL DIAGNOSTICS – WHAT BEYOND EEG?

In addition to EEG, ELMIKO’s portfolio also includes other technologies supporting the comprehensive assessment and therapy of the nervous system, including:

  • EMG – neuromuscular conduction testing,
  • IOMAX – used for intraoperative monitoring, employed in neurosurgery, orthopaedics, and laryngology,
  • aEEG/CFM – enabling the long-term observation of brain activity in patients in a coma or critical condition, in both adults and neonates; essential in ICUs, neonatology, and geriatric wards,
  • TMS and tES – modern, non-invasive neuromodulation methods used in the treatment of drug-resistant depression, chronic pain, migraines, and in post-stroke rehabilitation, supporting neuronal plasticity and accelerating neuroregenerative processes,

TCD, VEP, SEP, MEP, evoked potentials – solutions that expand the capabilities of functional diagnostics of the central nervous system.

TECHNOLOGY TRUSTED BY NEUROLOGISTS.

The systems offered by ELMIKO are utilised daily in:

  • Neurological and neurosurgical hospitals,
  • Intensive Care Units,
  • Neurological rehabilitation clinics,
  • Private practices and psychological counselling centres,
  • Educational and research facilities.

FOCUS ON QUALITY AT EVERY STAGE OF THE EEG EXAMINATION.

It is worth remembering that the technique of performing an EEG is a real art, in which every detail matters – from preparing the patient, through conducting the examination, to interpreting the recording. Each of these stages can be performed with varying degrees of quality, and this difference translates directly into the level of diagnosis.

Keeping the patient calm and creating the most natural examination conditions possible are key to obtaining a reliable recording. Night-time EEG examinations are becoming an increasingly popular option and may be the best solution for children or patients who have difficulty adapting to the conditions in the laboratory. In this regard, it is worth considering the solutions offered by NEURODIAGNOSTYKA and its team of specialists, who offer professional EEG examinations in home conditions, ensuring patient comfort and high-quality results.
