Depression tDCS-LTE™ system is a non-invasive medical device that stimulates the brain via electrodes on the scalp. It is a safe and effective in-office treatment for Depression. It is now available in the European Union for treatment of Major Depression in adult patients.

Treatment

The tDCS-LTE™ system was developed by leading doctors across the world. Clinical trials have shown it to be safe and effective in treating Depression. tDCS-LTE™ is painless and you can engage in other activities during the treatment. Each treatment session lasts less than 30 minutes. Usually patients visit the doctor 3-5 times per week for a session. You can expect to start feeling better after only a few sessions. Maximum benefit may take several weeks. If after stopping therapy your symptoms return, you can return to your doctor for maintenance sessions.

Application

Treatment of Depression with tDCS-LTE™ is easy. Wires connect the battery powered device to electrode patches that are positioned on the patient’s head. A special cap or a strap ensures the patches are positioned at the correct location.

Side effects

Side effects are mild and include skin redness and some itching that stops right after the session. After the session you can go about your regular activities at home and at work.

Contraindications

tDCS-LTE™ is contraindicated in patients with implanted metallic devices and in patients with pacemakers. Safety of tDCS-LTE™ during pregnancy has not been established.
